Region’s mayors spread summer reading message

SOUTH KING COUNTY — Four South King County mayors have offered their support to the Let’s Read campaign by participating in television public service announcements.

The segments, which were filmed in late June and early July, focus on the importance of summer reading for children and connect viewers to library resources. The PSAs also feature a short video by Horizons National about the summer learning slump.

The PSAs are airing on Channel 21 in each mayor’s respective city and on various websites.

King County Library System Director Bill Ptacek also recently filmed his own Let’s Read PSA at the Kent Library. His message is expected to air on the King County Channel and in South King County, as well.
